A nice pepper grinder. Naturally, it is more economical to buy corns and top up a grinder when necessary but in this climate, they do not keep fresh and after a while the grinder becomes less efficient. It is a compromise, but when one uses say a few specks of pepper here and there, much more practical. I can be stored in the fridge easily since it takes up little space.
